We manage two diving centers in Elba Island: Enfola Diving, on the north coast in the Gulf of Viticcio (municipality of Portoferraio), and Mandel Diving, on the south coast on Morcone beach (municipality of Capoliveri). With three boarding points and three boats, we cover the entire perimeter of the island and reach Pianosa for full-day trips. Both centers are SSI and PADI accredited.
Yes. Pianosa is part of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park and access is limited. We organize full-day diving trips to Pianosa departing from the Mandel center (Capoliveri) aboard the motor vessel NIBBIO. Trips are regulated by Park authorizations and generally include two dives on the same day at the island’s most representative sites.
From 8 years old. For younger children, we offer specific programs (Scuba Rangers / Bubblemaker) in shallow, protected waters. From 10 years old, it is possible to start the Junior Open Water course. All programs are led by certified SSI or PADI instructors with equipment sized according to age and body size. A short medical self-declaration is always required, as well as parental supervision for minors.
On the north side, the Scoglietto of Portoferraio (strict biological protection area), the walls of Marciana Marina and the seabeds of Sant’Andrea on the west coast. On the south and east side, the sites reached from Mandel complete the route around the island. Pianosa, reachable on full-day trips, is also considered one of the richest dive sites in the Mediterranean for biodiversity.

Enfola is the base on the north coast, inside the Enfola promontory: ideal for those seeking nature, vertical walls and the biological site of Scoglietto. Mandel is the base on the south coast, on Morcone beach: it covers the south and east coast of Elba and is the departure point for diving trips to Pianosa. The two bases are complementary, not alternatives: the choice depends on the side of the island where guests are staying.

Both. Our centers are accredited by both SSI (Scuba Schools International) and PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors). Both certifications are internationally recognized and interchangeable in future training paths. The choice between SSI and PADI depends on the student’s preferences and the path they wish to follow. All courses are led by certified instructors with many years of experience, also abroad.

The operating season typically runs from April to October, with optimal conditions between June and September. During this period, the water temperature generally ranges from 18 to 26 °C and surface visibility often exceeds 20 meters. May and September offer a quieter sea and very active marine life; July and August are ideal for families and beginners thanks to more stable weather conditions.
